Channings was
formerly five Edwardian town houses, the original features have been
restored
with flair and consideration and the atmosphere is like that of an exclusive
country club. It is located on a quiet cobbled street only 10 minutes'
walk from the centre of Edinburgh, with easy access to the host of shops
on Princes Street and the timeless grandeur of Edinburgh Castle.

A fascinating historical connection links the famous Antarctic
explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton with Channings. From April 1904 until
July 1910,
Shackleton and his wife Emily lived at number 14 South Learmonth Gardens.
This townhouse is now of course occupied by our Meetings & Events
Suites; The Kingsleigh and The Library.

Channings provides the perfect setting.

restaurants, Ochre Vita, an informal Mediterranean restaurant and Channings
Restaurant, a fine dining venue. You’ll enjoy distinctive food

decorated bedrooms, which include three suites and a four-poster bedroom.
